Dear salam.a.alrubaye,
1. please keep in mind that the 1-D bar elements only have axial stiffness (and strength).

2. Normally, the influence of the differing material properties at the welds is negligible compared to other effects, or at least it can be simply taken into account by setting the reinforcement material in the model to the worse of the "normal" (original) and "welded" steel properties.

3. If you think this is not the case for your analysis, please explain + send some sketches (see also ATENA Troubleshooting, 2.1.1; the document is included in ATENA installation and also available for separate download from our web under Products - ATENA - Documentation).

Regards.

Dear Daryl,
I mean the Stress-strain curves for the welded wire at the welded points are different than Stress-strain curves in another place.
Do I need to divide the welded wire to different segments? or what I could do?
Thanks

Dear salam.a.alrubaye,
please be specific what "different mechanical properties" you are interested in considering in your model?

Ad crack spacing: as long as the mesh is finer than the distance between localized cracks, this material parameter has no effect in ATENA. In other words, you only need to set is when using large elements, like shells.

Regards.

Dear,
How to model a concrete beam with welded wire mesh? Welded wire have different mechanical properties at the welding points. In addition, I read an article that the cracking spacing and tension stiffing is affected by the welded wire transverse spacing.
So Does Atena account for all these problems?
Thanks!
