I want to model a foundation with continuous elastic support. The support should describe the soil as good as possible. So I choose the "spring for surface" support. I have a about 50 MN/m^3.  So my initial spring stiffness is 50 MN/m^2 and the length in dir_y = 1.0 m.
My question is if that is the best option to model the soil. In the window where I choose the values of the spring I can read that this is not supported anymore and I have to assign the spring material to the surface but that does not work (after meshing comes the error message that this surface was not meshed?!?).
