please see ATENA Troubleshooting, 2.1.19 Problems reaching convergence and understanding ATENA convergence parameters for basic related information. The current version of the document is available from our web (Products - ATENA - Documentation).

Increasing the Step Stop multipliers (or possibly even the tolerances) can make sense in some specific situations, like if you wish to get some rough-only postpeak response. Increasing the tolerances before the peak can very easily lead to wrong results.

I hope this message finds you well.

Is it reasonable to increase the error of convergence criteria when increasing the number of iterations or changing the step length doesn't lead to convergence in static analyses? For instance, increasing the error of absolute residual forces to 5% while other criteria remain at their default value.

I've checked boundary conditions, material, mesh size,etc.
