I am modelling concrete beams reinforced with FRP bars. I am modeling quarter of the beam due to symmetry in x and y direction.

I am loading by displacement control using Newton Raphson. I noticed that at the first cracking there is a sudden drop in load, then there is a steep increase and then a sudden increase in load.

Is there any explanation for this behavior please?
