structured mesh can only be generated for volumes of reasonable topology (6 four-edged surfaces; some of the edges/surfaces can be divided into segments, but if have a complicated irregular volume, you need to divide it into several simpler ones). I also recommend to read the GiD Help section MESH -Structured.

in order to perform the mesh for a slab element with 'SHELL concrete-steel' material properties I considered quadratic hexahedra elements for meshing. After I select the volume and set the number of cells for each line I got this error message: 'Volume number 52 can only be meshed with tetrahedra and it has another element type assigned'.
I have tried also for 'SOLID concrete' material and the error is the same.
