Have you already tried to follow the Tutorial for Construction Process in ATENA 2D (included in ATENA installation and also available for download from our web under Products - ATENA - Documentation)?

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am trying to model a continuous two-span bridge formed by two precast prestressed girders. In real life, the girders are first prefabricated and transported to the work-site where a continuity concrete is cast between the girders. In the model during the first analysis steps I apply the prestressing force and the self-weight of the girders; then I consider the continuity concrete as a non-linear cementitious material with a varying Young modulus, however, due to the imposed deformation of the prestressing during the first stages, the concrete of the continuity section suffers considerable cracking and the analysis produces results with considerable errors. How could I best tackle this problema, please?

PS. I am using ATENA 2D v5.

Thanks in advance,

FAF
