Dear Aleksander,
I expect that you model the hydration of concrete. The material used in ATENA for this analysis is called CCTransportMaterialLevel7. The material parameters for this model are calculated based on the fractions of mixture components such as water, cement etc. The free saturation water represents the water in the mixture therefore influence material parameters such as heat conductivity or capacity. So even if you are not interested in moisture development, the water content influences heat transport material parameters. You can read more details on this in Theory manual in section dedicated to material CCTransportMaterialLevel7.
Greetings, dear Atena users and developers.
When solving a problem on thermal conductivity and hydration of massive concrete structures, I discovered a significant influence of the Free Water Saturation parameter on temperature. How do you set this parameter in your problems? Is it acceptable to set it equal to the water content of 1 m³ of concrete mix?
Also, how does the program determine the water content in young concrete? Changing the Qw pot parameter doesn't change the problem results (my model uses Fixed Moisture Dof).
Thank you.
