Hello, everyone
I am a graduate student.
I'm studying Atena GID for use in a research project.
I opened the file Small Cantilever With Torsion. It is in the Atena GiD exmaples.
I understand that Smeared Reinforcement is used as an alternative to stirrups modeling.
My question is,
1. In the example file, stirrups were modeled with 1-D Reinforcement and Smeared Reinforcement was also used. Do I need to enable Smeared Reinforcement and model the stirrups separately?
2. In the material model Cantilever 1
Z-direction Smeared Reinforcing Ratio : 0.0025
Y-direction Smeared Reinforcing Ratio : 0.0025
In the material model Cantilever 2
Z-direction Smeared Reinforcing Ratio : 0.0013
X-direction Smeared Reinforcing Ratio : 0.0025
The ratios of Z-direction seem to be correct, but is this ratio correct for X,Y? My calculations give Y = 0.001727, X = 0.008796.
Thank you!!!
