Hello, you can switch to 10noded tetrahedral elements by switching to quadratic mesh in the mesh settings: Mesh / Quadratic type / Quadratic. This with then automatically generate a model with midside nodes, but maybe your problem is that these elements may have sometimes distorted shapes resulting in negative jacobian due to the curved holes inside. If this is your problem, I recommend contacting our hotline: cervenka@cervenka.cz. We can check your model and hopefully come with some suggestion.

Hello everyone,
I’m simulating a hollow-core slab in ATENA GiD, and I can only use tetrahedral elements. However, the failure load in my simulation with regular 4-node tetrahedra is about 170% too high. To address this, I’m considering switching to 10-node tetrahedral elements (CCIsoTetra), as I believe this might provide a more accurate result.
Could anyone guide me on how to implement these 10-node elements and ensure the intermediate nodes are correctly assigned?
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!
