Topic: Number of Profiles

Hi there,
In ATENA Science-GiD manual part 4-6 page 52 paragraph 2, why the number of profile will stay 1 and there are 2 bars in the cross-section? Also in case if we have also stirrups is it possible to define the stirrups like the definition of the bars?

Re: Number of Profiles

Hello, defining number of profiles >1 is for modelling multiple real reinf. bars with a single discrete bar (which makes sense with very large finite elements, when multiple bars fall into a single concrete element). Values of 0.5 or 0.25 are usefull for bars in symmetry planes, where only 1/2 or 1/4 of the bar should be modelled.
