Topic: stress or displacement contour in polar-coordinate

Hi, I'd like to ask if in the postprocess of atena, the stress or dispacement contour can be directly shown in polar-coordinate? Such as, we want to see the radial stress distribution for a part without calculating from sigx, sigy, sigxy mannualy. To find all the nodes lable and calculation of them would be very toublesome.  Thanks.

Re: stress or displacement contour in polar-coordinate

Hello,
1. in Axisymmetric analysis, you only have the results in polar coordinates.
2. for shell elements, you can define the local coordinate system to get the results consitent between neighbouring elements (typically, local X corresponding to meridian direction and local Y to circumferential, or vice versa).

If none of ther above solves your wish, please explain what you are modelling and what results you are interested in, maybe we can find some way...
