Topic: Modelling length splice

Greetings, dear Atena users and developers.
I am simulating a lap splice in GiD Athena, but the results differ from the experiment. The load vs. deflection curves for both the lap-spliced and non-spliced specimens are relatively identical, even though the lap splice length is only 50% of the required length. I have tried inputting the bond strength parameters and other data according to the experiment, but the results remain the same. How can I resolve this issue?
Thank you.

Re: Modelling length splice

Hello,
that is quite hard to say without seeing the model. You can send us the model on cervenka@cervenka.cz with little more explanation how it matches the experimental L-D diagram and if you compared stresses and forces in the reinforcement for both models.

Re: Modelling length splice

Dear miss Michaela, thank you for the response.
I will immediately send the model to email. I hope I get an understanding to solve this problem.
Thank You
