Topic: TENSILE STRENGTH

While doing the numerical analysis i m having one doubt regarding the tensile strength of concrete. In the material model for concrete what tensile strength should i provide (i) Split tensile strength, (ii) Direct uniaxial tensile strength (Tests conducted on concrete cylinders), (iii) Flexural tensile strength.

Re: TENSILE STRENGTH

In the material definition in ATENA, the uniaxial tensile strength is to be entered (see ATENA Theory, 2.2 Fracture–Plastic Constitutive Model (CC3DCementitious, CC3DNonLinCementitious, CC3DNonLinCementitious2, CC3DNonLinCementitious2User, CC3DNonLinCementitious2Variable, CC3DNonLinCementitious2SHCC, CC3DNonLinCementitious3) for more information). If you have ft from a different type of test (flexural, splitting), please do not forget to convert it to uniaxial.
